View the course as a student
After modifying course content, it is useful to view it from the student’s perspective. For this purpose, Moodle has companion accounts. These are temporary, fictitious accounts with various roles (such as student) linked to the main account.
You don’t have to worry about the associated account confusing students or forgetting to delete it. ¨The account will be removed when you return to your main account.
The button “Switch to companion account” in the user menu is used to switch to the companion account, which will take you to the form for activating the companion account.
In the form, you can then select the role for the companion account (1) and confirm the switch (2).
A companion account only has access to the course in which it was created. You can view content, activities, and other parts of the course as every student of your course could.
To switch back to your own account, use the button Switch back
After pressing this button, you will see the form to switch back to your own account.
